What’s New with iPhone 4S and iOS 5

Apple recently debuted its new iPhone and mobile operating system–the iPhone 4S and iOS 5.

iOS 5 boasts over 200 new features including:

  • Notification Center
  • iMessage
  • Twitter integration
  • Reminders
  • Improved camera functionality
  • Improved Safari browsing
  • AirPlay

iOS 5 also introduces iCloud, which allows you to activate, sync and backup your mobile devices wirelessly, without the need for a computer.

Siri, the voice-activated personal assistant, is the most anticipated feature of the new iPhone. With just your voice, you can schedule reminders, meetings and find information on the web. This feature is only available on the iPhone 4S.

The new operating system is installed on the iPhone 4S and is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, the 3rd and 4th generation iPod Touch, iPad and iPad 2. Just open iTunes on your PC or Mac to download the new iOS and update your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.

  1. I just updated my iPhone 4 to OS5 — some really nice features, including iCloud, a great “newstand” app where you can get the NY Times top stories for free and subscribe to only sections of the paper that you want to read. Oh, and — it’s the simple things, isn’t it? — there’s a new flag feature in email. Love it!
